What is time and how the Universe was born?
Abstract
Problem(s) of time is a multifaceted, rather than a single conceptual bafflement to be resolved with at least 4 difficulties.
(1) Problem of time in General Relativity: Hamiltonian consists only of constraints, a canonical framework frozen in time.
(2) Problem of many-fingered time, the chosen time variable is spatially/spacetime dependent when a d.o.f. in a field theory is selected as time variable to deparameterize the theory.
(3) Spatial dimensions can be multiple, but time can only be one.
(4) Time runs from -infinite to +infinite; yet the Universe is only 13.7 billion years old.
(5) Pauli Theorem: Time can't be an operator in Quantum Mechanics.
We appreciate that quantum physics and gravitation are cognizant of an exact Chern-Simons Hartle-Hawking instanton tunneling state that delivered the birth of the Universe.
