Radiation response of cells under ion-beam bombardment (Collaborator: Dr. Yeu-Kuang Hwu and Dr. Yueh-Chung Yu Yu)

We use proton beam as a radiation source to study cell damage, response, and communication. Tumor and mammalian cells were bombarded directly by proton beams. After the radiation, the MTS assay was used to evaluate cell survival rate by colony formation. We are also interested to extend this approach to study cell-cell communications with microbeams.
