About me
I am an assistant research fellow in the Institute of Physics in Academia Sinica, Taiwan. I was a postdoc in the Department of Physics and the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, in the theoretical physics research group of Nigel Goldenfeld. In my physics research, I have shown that the laminar-turbulent transition is connected with directed percolation and extreme value statistics. In my biology research, I use stochastic methods to model rapid evolution and spatial structure in microbe-virus ecosystems. More generally, I am interested in applications of statistical mechanics to biology, ecology and non-equilibrium physical systems such as fluid turbulence. |
