The Emergence of Quark Matter
Prof. Yi Yin
The heavy-ion collision experiments at RHIC and LHC demonstrate that hot quark matter behaves as a fluid with an extraordinarily small shear viscosity. Nevertheless, how this type of matter emerges from quark-gluon interaction remains one of the most important future questions. In this talk, I will present recent developments addressing this question, including a new scenario for characterizing QCD plasma’s properties at non-hydrodynamic and non-perturbative regimes.
