CDF
is one of two colliding experiments at the Fermi National Accelerator
Laboratory, which houses the Tevatron collider.
This collider machine
is currently the most energetic operating accelerator in
the world. It
collides proton and anti-proton beams at the
center-of-mass energy of
1.96 TeV. The main goals of the experimental program of
the Tevatron is
to:
- Perform precision
tests on
the Standard
Model (SM)
- Search for New
Physics
beyond the SM
Academia
Sinica is one of the collaborator of the CDF experiment.
It has
participated actively
in many aspects of the experiment. These include :
- Physics
analyses in Top-Physics, New Phenomena, Higgs and
B-Physics
- Building
the optical readout of the silicon vertex detector
- Implementing
and operation of the CDF computing farm
