研究興趣

表面物理，原子分辨率顯微學，表面原子動態學，奈米材料結構之物理性質，磊晶成長與薄膜成長機制等等。著作有論文與書章等近三百篇及專書三冊（Elsevier及Cambridge University Press）。擔任過一任的中華物理學會與中華真空科技學會理事長。曾應邀訪問十幾個國家作長期或短期訪問。並做兩百場以上的Invited, Plenary and Keynote演講。
