Holographic Boundary Conformal Field Theory and the Page Curve of AdS Black Hole

Abstract

We calculate the holographic entanglement entropy of the states of Hawking radiation and the states inside the AdS black hole. We assume the state of the Hawking radiation is described by a boundary conformal field theory defined in a Minkowski spacetime with a boundary which gives a finite volume in this spacetime. By AdS/CFT correspondence, the AdS-Schwarzschild black hole can be described by a finite-temperature conformal field theory defined on the co-dimension-one hypersurface in the AdS-Schwarzschild spacetime. The CFT of the blackhole can be coupled to the bulk spacetime of the BCFT describing the Hawking radiation emitted from the black hole under the doubly holographic setup.

We use Ryu-Takanayagi formula to calculate the entanglement entropy from the minimal surfaces defined on different Cauchy slices. As time evolves from the first Hawking radiation emitted, the boundary in BCFT moves and causes the change of the area of some minimal surfaces. The entanglement entropy increases until the Page time when a constant area minimal surface is the smallest minimal surface. We plot the Page curve in different temperatures and find two different phases of the Page curve.
