Title

Delineating QCD matter in extreme conditions

Speaker

Prof. Toru Kojo (Central China Normal University)

Abstract

I discuss the properties of QCD matter in extreme conditions, in particular cold, dense QCD. The dense QCD matter has been explored for a long time, but its properties remain mystery even at conceptual level. There are on-going efforts to study dense QCD by utilizing the experimental information from neutron stars and low energy heavy ion collisions as well as the results of the lattice Monte-Carlo simulations for QCD-like theories which share many features with QCD. New theoretical concepts such as quarkyonic mattter have been also developed and new interesting problems were formulated. In my talk I delineate dense QCD from the viewpoints of QCD, condensed matter physics, and nuclear astrophysics, and then discuss what should be done in next 10 years.
