Title
Rapid Response Workshop on New XENON1T Result
Speaker
Abstract
On June 17, 2020, the XENON1T Dark Matter Experiment released a new result in which they had observed an unexpected excess of events. These events could potentially come from a hypothetical dark matter candidate called the axion. They could imply an enhanced neutrino magnetic dipole moment. They could also be attributed to contamination inside the experiment. Through this Rapid Response Workshop and under the COVID-19 constraint, we bring together domestic experts who are interested in this topic to review and discuss the new experimental result and its implications. We will also use this opportunity to join force between experimentalists and theorists for a new experiment on axion search within Taiwan.
