Title

(3+1)D classical Yang-Mills description of glasma in the initial stages of relativistic heavy-ion collisions

Speaker

Dr. Hidefumi Matsuda (Fudan University)

Abstract

In the initial stages of relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the matter created is predominantly a weakly-coupled and highly-occupied gluon matter, known as glasma. While classical Yang-Mills (CYM) theory is widely regarded as an effective framework for describing the evolution of glasma, most CYM descriptions have traditionally been constrained to the assumption of boost invariance, an approximation suitable for the mid-rapidity region. Recently, there has been significant interest in developing the 3+1D CYM description that goes beyond the boost invariance assumption, which is crucial for understanding the early state of the created matter across a broader range of rapidity.

In this talk, we first provide both experimental and theoretical context for the study of (3+1)D glasma, and review the current status of 3+1D glasma research. We then introduce our unique approach to 3+1D glasma modeling, formulated in Milne coordinates, and demonstrate its numerical efficiency. Finally, we present our numerical results and discuss their implications.
