At peculiar combinations of driving frequency and the curvature of the (U-) track, however, exceptions do exist. In these special cases, the chain can either (a) be trapped or (b) exhibit anomalous ratcheting, in fashions of parametric resonance. These special resonances require further investigations, and are temporarily excluded from our discussion of the “generic” phases.
