Giant Susceptibility of Optical Second Harmonic Generation in SnS with ferroelectric Stacking

Dr. Kung-Hsuan Lin at IoPAS and Prof. Kosuke Nagashio at Tokyo University led groups to report giant second-order nonlinearity of SnS with ferroelectric stacking. Its second harmonic generation (SHG) susceptibility is at least two order magnitude higher than the values of typical SnS thin films and traditional nonlinear crystals. The SHG anisotropy of single-domain and multi-domain SnS flakes is also systematically investigated. This work has been published in Advanced Optical Materials.
