Four PhD students of Nano Science and Technology Program, TIGP, participated in the "2nd International Nano Olympiad" and won the "The best business project in development" Gold Medal award

Led by Dr. Phillip Wu, a research scholar from the National Science and Technology Council, and Dr. Po-Wei Chi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Chung Yuan Christian University, a team of PhD students from the Nano Science and Technology Program (TIGP)—Yan-Ruei Chen, Wei-Ming Chen, Yu-Hsuan Su, and Chin-Yi Chung—represented Taiwan at the 2nd International Nano Olympiad held in Bangi, Malaysia, from November 14-18, 2024.

International Nanotechnology Olympiad (INO) is a global competition, among university PhD students from different involved countries, being held in member economies. Participants propose their competitive ideas and plans as nanotechnology based solutions for problems related to global challenges.This year’s competition focused on global challenges related to the application of nanotechnology in alternative energy development and production, including wind energy, solar energy, nuclear energy, hydrogen fuel, tidal energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy and energy storage. Participants showcased their team research projects through oral presentations. After five days of competition, Taiwan was honored with the "The best business project in development" Gold Medal award.
