Title
Searching for DM non-gravitational interaction: what is its particle nature
Speaker
Prof. Yue-Lin Sming Tsai (Purple Mountain Observatory)Abstract
It is widely believed that the simplest and most motivated dark matter models are those candidates involving s-wave annihilation (e.g., most parameter space of the Weakly Interacting Massive Particles) in thermal equilibrium. However, particle collider and direct dark matter detection experiments have yet to find a definitive evidence. For dark matter candidates with masses ranging from MeV to 10 TeV, the remaining viable parameter space that satisfies the relic density measured by Planck involves velocity-dependent annihilation. In this talk, I will explore how indirect detection methods and cosmological observations can be used to search for such annihilating dark matter candidates beyond the s-wave annihilation.
