His laboratory explicate bench-top experimental flow dynamic measurements including laser Doppler particle anemometry and a laser-tweezer system for intra-cellular rheological measurements. The lab is also specialized in numerical analyses and statistical analyses of blood flow behaviors in prostheses and devices.

Research Activities & Accomplishments

Since 1977, Professor Hwang has organized four Advanced Science Institutes (ASIs) in the area of cardiovascular engineering. These ASIs were all financially sponsored by the Scientific Affairs Division, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (SAD/NATO). Hwang has thus far published eight books including the “ Frontiers in Biomedical Engineering ”, Edited by Ned H.C. Hwang & Savio L -Y Woo, published 2003 by the Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers, New York , NY .
