Research Student Fellowship in

Low Energy Neutrino and Astroparticle Physics

Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica

Taiwan RoC

The TEXONO Collaboration of the Institute of Physics (IoP) at the Academia Sinica (AS) invites applications of current M.Sc. and Ph.D. students to join its experimental research programs. Candidates should be registered students pursing research degrees in universities and have already obtained approval and nomination by at least one of their faculty members specialized in nuclear and particle physics. The research projects performed in the course of the appointment will become the backbone of their theses. Degrees will be granted by the respective universities, while IoP will issue a verification certificate.

The Fellowship will cover travels to as well as living expenses in Taiwan – lasting at least one year and three years for M.Sc. and Ph.D. candidates, respectively. Support on the participation in international schools and conferences can be expected. Special arrangements can be made to cater individual needs upon discussions and mutual agreement. Extended collaboration between IoP and the universities can be negotiated.

Academia Sinica is the leading basic research institution in Taiwan, and is made up of an increasingly international community of scholars. Besides the TEXONO program, the Particle Physics experimental group has active participation in the high energy collider experiments at CDF(Fermilab) and ATLAS(CERN), in the search of anti-matter at the AMS experiment on the International Space Station, on the studies of low energy hadron physics at the LEPS experiment(SPring8), and on the GRID computing project.
