The organizers have provided assurance that StatPhys-Taiwan-2005 will be conducted in accordance with IUPAP principles as stated in the ICSU-document "Universality of Science'' (sixth edition, 1989) regarding the free circulation of scientists for international purposes. In particular no bona fide scientist will be excluded from participation on the grounds of national origin, nationality, or political considerations unrelated to science. Citizens of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden and USA may have visa-free stays in Taiwan up to 14 days if they have an air plane ticket for leaving Taiwan and a passport valid more than 6 months. (Please note that these visas cannot be extended, so if the stay is over 14 days a landing visa is needed.) They can also obtain a landing visa at the airport for visits of 15 to 30 days.
