D. degrees from Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics, National Taiwan University in 2006. He was a postdoctoral fellow in Department of Physics, National Taiwan Normal University in 2006, Department of Chemistry, Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2007-2009, and Center for Condensed Matter Sciences, National Taiwan University between 2010-2011, respectively. He also worked in Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan between 2009 and 2010. Dr. Lin has been an assistant research scientist since 2011 in Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taiwan (IoPAS) and adjunct assistant professor since 2016 in Institute of Photonics Technologies, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. He was also an adjunct assistant professor in Department of Electro-Optical Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology in 2013.

His research interests are primarily concerned with femtosecond laser spectroscopy and time-resolved optical spectroscopy for material science, and femtosecond-laser-related applications. Currently, he is the leader of Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy Lab in IoPAS. He also manages the advanced optical microscopes in Bioimaging core facilities in IoPAS. In addition, he has passion for outreach to promote popular science. He wrote several articles for the popular science organization “PanSci.” He is also an Deputy Chief Editor of “Science Monthly”, which is a domestic magazine for popular science in Taiwan.
