Biography

林宮玄博士，中央研究院物理研究所雷射光譜實驗室主持人，2001年畢業於國立臺灣大學電機系，2006年博士畢業於國立臺灣大學光電所。2011年於中央研究院服務以前，曾在國立臺灣師範大學物理系、美國麻省理工學院化學系、工業技術研究院及國立臺灣大學凝態科學研究中心服務。他是美國光學學會資深會員，美國物理學會、中華民國物理學會、中華民國光電學會之會員。主要研究方向為凝態材料之超快光譜、非線性光學研究及超快雷射應用。在教學方面，曾在國立臺北科技大學光電系、國立清華大學光電所、國立政治大學應用物理所、中研院國際研究生奈米學程授課。在科普方面，他曾兼任科學月刊/科技報導副總編輯，也在泛科學發表文章。

Kung-Hsuan Lin received the B. S. degree from Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2001, and the Ph. D. degrees from Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics, NTU in 2006. Before he joined Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica (IoPAS) as a lab leader, he had been working in National Taiwan Normal University (Physics Department), MIT (Chemistry Department), Industrial Technology Research Institute (Laser Center), and NTU (Center for Condensed Matter Sciences). Dr. Lin has been the leader of Laser Spectroscopy Lab in IoPAS since 2011. He managed the advanced optical microscopes in Bioimaging core facilities in IoPAS for three years. He is a Senior Member of OSA (Optical Society), and a member of American Physics Society, Physical Society of Taiwan and Taiwan Photonics Society.

His research interests are primarily concerned with femtosecond laser spectroscopy/time-resolved optical spectroscopy for material sciences, and femtosecond-laser-related applications. He lectured courses in National Taipei University of Technology (Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering), National Tsing Hua University (Institute of Photonics Technologies), Taiwan International Graduate Program in Academia Sinica (Nano sciences), and National Chengchi University (Graduate Institute of Applied Physics). During 2016 and 2018, he served as the Deputy Chief Editor of Science Monthly/SciTech Reports, which is a domestic magazine/newspaper for popular sciences in Taiwan. He also wrote several articles for PanSci, which is a Taiwanese website for popular sciences.
