Bio/Soft Talks

An Interdisplinary and Multi-institute Seminar and Journal Club

Time: Monday 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm followed by free discussion with dessert till 4 pm

Place: Old Physics Building Room 332, Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica

Traveling Information:

There are buses run between Sinica, NTU, NCU and NTHU.  Please see http://www.sinica.edu.tw/as/misc/bus-route.html.

The goal of this seminar is to build up the interactions between different research groups and create a soft matter community where the interfaces between chemistry, physics, material science and biology happen. The scope covers self-assembly, soft nanotechnology, biological aspects of soft matter or technologies, surfaces, interfaces and interactions, building blocks, theory, modeling, simulations and so on.

The talk format is informal. They can be new results, ideas or some specialty in your research group to stimulate discussion and interests among the audience. We especially encourage students and postdocs to give presentations.

If you want to receive the email announcement with detailed information about each week's talk, please email me (Keng-hui Lin, khlin AT phys.sinica.edu.tw) to add you into the list.  (Strongly recommended. Sometimes we arrange lab tours and meetings with the speaker and we will announce it in the email.)
