Advances in Microfluidics & Nanofluidics 2014 (AMN2014) is the fifth conference after successful meetings previously held in Hong Kong (2009), Singapore (2011), Dalian, China (2012), and University of Notre Dame, USA (2013). The conference aims to provide an inter-active forum to promote scientific exchange and to promote closer networks and collaborative ties between leading Asia-Pacific and international micro/nanofluidics researchers across engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, material science and biotechnology.

The scope of AMN2014 is deliberately broad and interdisciplinary, encompassing the latest and most innovative developments in micro/nanoscale science and technology. The themes include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fundamental microfluidic and nanofluidic science, novel fluid and transport phenomena, fluid actuation and particle manipulation mechanisms.

  2. Micro- and nano-scale chemical and biological sensing techniques

  3. Gene, protein and cell analysis and manipulation

  4. Chemical and biochemical synthesi

  5. Biosensors (for biochemical and pathogen detection, Point-of-care diagnostics)

  6. Drug screening and drug delivery

  7. Biomaterials synthesis and tissue engineering

  8. Micro/nanofluidics for energy/environmental applications

  9. Micro/nanofabrication methods and chip-scale integration
