Title

Spintronics in real-time and pseudospins in low dimensions

Abstract

Effective manipulation of quantum degrees of freedom is essential to make quantum devices extraordinary. Among these, spin as well as pseudospin has witnessed its importance in modern quantum technological researches. In this talk, we will go through several developments in spintronics as well as pseudospintronics in low dimensional systems. Specific attention will be on real-time dynamics of spin-polarized transports in zero-dimensional interference devices as well as valley pseudospin pumping in two-dimensional materials. In addition to these theoretical efforts, recent experimental progresses on two-dimensional magnetic semiconductors for spin-filtering magneto-resistance effects will also be discussed. We conclude by addressing some prospective future research possibilities for harnessing quantum degrees of freedom into useful device resources.
