簡要記述(英):Charmless two-body B decays into final states involving two vector mesons (VV) consist of three polarization states. Naively, it is expected that this decay is dominated by the longitudinal polarization, while the transverse polarization is very small. However, since 2004 B factories BaBar and Belle have found that transverse polarization is of the same magnitude as the longitudinal one for penguin-dominated charmless decays. Various mechanisms have been put forward to resolve this polarization fraction puzzle, but most of them are not appealing and satisfactory. Dr. Hai-Yang Cheng of Academia Sinica and Prof. Kwei-Chou Yang of Chung Yuan Christian University discovered that next-to-leading-order nonfactorizable effects (including vertex, penguin corrections and hard spectator scattering) can naturally explain why the transverse polarization can be large and plays an essential role [1]. They have extended their study to final states involving one or two axial-vector mesons, i.e. .
